Tuesday blues

Today is cloudy, and I really miss the sun when it is covered. I love flying in this kind of weather, you break through the clouds and there, shining as always, is our eternal sun. I will never tire of flying, I love and fear it. It takes you above it all, almost surreal even after a hundred years. I will always love it. And it takes you to someplace, that is usually at least an adventure if not outright fun! So where is this going? Once, when flying to DC, the pilot said that we would be the only plane landing due to the fog, and the fact that our plane was one of the first equipped to use the newly installed navigation system which allows a plane to land, almost unaided by the pilot. Sure enough, the fog cleared and I saw the runway about two seconds before the wheels hit the ground. If you study, and work at it, you can become a pilot. And part of that training is to learn to trust the instruments. In the fog of life, we have to trust our instruments, our friends. We check with them daily and ask for advice and wisdom. And if we do not give in to heroism, nor fear, we can make our way through the fog to a smooth landing. Oh, as to the sun, it has to be obscured again for the landing. The basking in its warmth is only a temporary moment of grace. The valley beckons :)
